Undiagnosed Sleep Apnoea among Women on Rise

According to Kelly Brown, M.D., assistant professor of Clinical Neurology at the Vanderbilt Sleep Center, most women suffer from undiagnosed sleep apnoea and this is attributed to the fact that sleep apnoea is thought as a disease of middle aged men and not a disease of women. Treatment should be sought since sleep apnoea is associated with difficult-to-treat hypertension, atrial fibrillation and diabetes.
