Tired All the time? Get Checked for Sleep Apnoea
Dr Anne Magauran from the Center for Sleep Disorders at Exeter Hospital says that sleep apnoea is treatable. With more than 18 million Americans suffering from sleep apnoea, people who are constantly tired throughout the day should visit a doctor to discuss the problem. Many people are unaware of having sleep apnoea.
Sleep apnoea affects people of all ages but it is more common in people above 50 years of age. It is more common in men than in women. A visit to the doctor may necessitate a sleep study if a sleep problem is suspected. The sleep study can be conducted at the health facility or at home after which treatment is given if sleep apnoea is identified.
