Surgery Options Exist to Treat Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
Obstructive sleep apnoea is a disorder characterized by episodic obstruction of the airway during sleep. This is attributed to a number of factors such weight differences, age, severity of airway obstruction and other complexities associated with the condition.
An evaluation and diagnosis precedes any treatment of OSA. Chronic sleep apnoea will certainly require long term management. The most preferred treatment is CPAP which is only effective if it is strictly adhered to. Surgery is recommended even though patients as well as doctors are sometimes skeptical.
