Surgery Not the Only Solution to Snoring Problem

entNasal obstruction is one of the major causes of snoring and other serious medical conditions such as obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). Snoring can also be the result of obstruction in other parts of the airway. OSA will lead to hypertension, diabetes, and increase the risk of stroke and heart attacks.

Surgery can be used to correct nasal deviation and eliminate snoring. Some of the surgical procedures are the narrowing of the turbinates and the surgery to correct deviation of the septum. The ENT surgeon will perform an endoscopy of the upper airway to determine the point of obstruction during the detailed examination.
