Surgery to Move Both Jaws Forward Noticeably Improves OSA, says American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Obstructive sleep apnoea has various serious medical consequences. This is why more and more techniques are being discovered to treat it. Recently, maxillomandibular advancement (MMA), a surgical procedure to move both the upper and/or lower jaws forward, has been shown to noticeably improve obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).

MMA was shown to significantly increased patients' airway dimensions and to improve the condition of obstructive sleep apnoea among subjects.
