Studies Link Sleep Disorder to Death Risks

studyStudies undertaken in Australia and Korea emphasise the importance of seeking treatment for the adults who have obstructive sleep apnoea. Obstructive sleep apnoea is a common and serious sleep disorder characterised by interrupted breathing during sleep. Paused breathing happens numerous times during sleep greatly reducing the quality of sleep in OSA patients.

The above mentioned studies published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine have found out that OSA is associated with greater cardiovascular mortality and even general mortality. People with OSA are two and a half more times likely to die from all causes than normal people. Additionally, OSA patients are more likely to get involved in automobile accidents.
