Sleep Disorder Caused by Brain Malformation

Sleep disorders can be caused by brain malformation. A good example of a brain malfunction is a congenital defect called Arnold-Chiari malfunction which leads to insomnia. It can also lead to sleep apnoea associated with sleep disturbances and respiratory complications.  Sufferers of this condition have high adrenal gland activity that causes them to lose sleep days on end.
