Sleep Apnoea Increases Risk of Rheumatoid Arthritis
The results of a study published in the Journal of Sleep Medicine show that sleep apnoea is associated with an increased risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis. The researchers at Taipei Medical University in Taiwan have indicated that the risk is two times for people with sleep apnoea. Rheumatoid arthritis affects more than 21 million people across the world and compromises the immune system.
