SERVE-HF; the World’s Largest Study of Sleep-Disordered Breathing in Heart Failure Completes Recruitment
The SERVE-HF randomised study to evaluate whether treatment of central sleep apnoea improves outcome and survival in heart failure patients has been announced at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2013. The two conditions are comorbidities highly prevalent among Europeans. The milestone achieved in completion of the recruitment of investigators has been hailed as a good collaboration between sleep specialists and cardiologists by Professor Martin Cowie, a co-principal investigator in the study.
