Researchers Diagnose Sleep Apnoea While Patient is Awake

Researchers in Australia are confident of being able to diagnose obstructive sleep apnoea in patients while they are awake. The conventional way of diagnosing OSA has been through an overnight sleep study which is now not a necessity. According to Julien Cisonni from Curtin University, they have created a computer simulation program which they use to analyse airflow and create a 3D model of the patient’s throat.
