Predictors of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Severity in Adenotonsillectomy Candidates

There is uncertainty over which characteristics increase obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) severity in children. In a new study, the relationships of OSAS severity and age, sex, race, body mass index (BMI), environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), prematurity, socioeconomic variables, and comorbidities were studied in candidates for adenotonsillectomy. The study found out that apnoea hypopnoea index level was significantly associated with race and environmental tobacco smoke.
