Poor Sleep Linked To Widespread Pain
Widespread pain is described as pain which is experienced in different parts of the body. Widespread pain in older adults is associated with morbidity, mental and physical disability. For a long time now, the feeling of being tired and worn out after a night of sleep has been used as a predictor of developing widespread pain.
Non-restorative sleep being a predictor of widespread pain, targeting and modifying sleep will improve the outcome of widespread pain. Non-restorative sleep will make an individual twice as likely to experience the onset of widespread pain compared to people who do not have sleep problems.
