Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Associated with Atrial Fibrillation after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft: Presented at Vascular 2013

Obstructive sleep apnoea can have many serious medical consequences. One of these consequences is heart disease. The presence of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is predictive of post-procedural atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients who undergo coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG), according to results of a prospective investigation presented at Vascular 2013. Patients with high-risk OSA were almost twice as likely as patients with low-risk OSA to develop AF post-CABG.
