NovaSom and the American Sleep Apnoea Association Release Insightful New Consumer Data on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

statisticsA survey commissioned by the American Sleep Apnoea Association, a nonprofit organisation promoting sleep apnoea awareness and NovaSom, Inc., a leader in OSA home testing solutions sought to understand the levels of consumer awareness of OSA, associated risks and OSA testing and treatment. For the survey, 500 men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 were evaluated.

A clear lack of awareness on latest screening and testing technologies and procedures explains the 85% of Americans with undiagnosed OSA. It also explains the number of complications and deaths from the comorbidities associated with obstructive sleep apnoea which is otherwise a problem that can be treated explains John Spitznagel, Chief Executive Officer of NovaSom. It is appreciated that information and awareness are key to reaching the numerous amount of people suffering from sleep disorders.
