Nocturnal Teeth Grinding – An Unwanted Side-Effect of Stress

teeth grindingBruxism is now confirmed as one of the manifestations of stress. Teeth grinding happens to be a common symptom of stress. A study at the Heinrich-Heine University in Germany sought to find out the relationship between bruxism and stress. Thin plates were used to evaluate teeth grinding in bruxism patients and normal people.

The findings support the assertion that teeth grinding is more problematic in people who are not able to deal with stress. Age and gender do not play any role in teeth grinding. Some of the symptoms of bruxism are wearing out of teeth, aching jaw muscles and increased sensitivity of teeth. Read more here.
