Mother Beats GPs on Sleep Disorder

A mother has diagnosed her daughter who has been suffering from a mystery condition that stopped her breathing every five minutes as she slept for the last twenty five years. The numerous visits to the consultants and doctors bore no success and they had become stressed and exhausted.

The mother only came to learn of the problem via searching on Google and matching the symptoms to those of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). Upon suggesting the problem to the doctor, a sleep study was conducted and OSA diagnosed. The prescribed treatment was CPAP therapy. Miss Ramsay has now started an awareness campaign for OSA and a weight loss challenge.
