Many with Dementia Face Sleeplessness: How to Handle this Behavioral Change
Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are conditions affecting many Americans. The biggest source of concern is that the number of people suffering from any of these two diseases continues to rise. The ramifications of the widespread nature of these diseases is that people in one way or another are aware and are involved in caring for patients.
Effort is being placed on teaching these people the side effects associated with dementia, especially sleeplessness. It is important that dementia patients get an adequate and a full night of sleep to promote good health and lower irritability, confusion and disorientation. For Alzheimer’s disease patients, adequate sleep will minimise tiredness and sleepiness.
