Losing Sleep — Higher Risk of Death for Men?

The inability to fall asleep and failure to get adequate sleep have become common problems in the world today. Pressures in everyday life, family conflicts, financial pressures, anxiety, alcohol abuse, and depression are common causes of insomnia. Insomnia may also be as a result of obstructive sleep apnoea. A study in the US in 2010 reported that men with chronic insomnia were four times more likely to die compared to men who had healthy sleep.
