Lack of Sleep Increases Levels of Protein that Cause Alzheimer’s Disease: Study

Poor quality of sleep or the lack of sleep increases the levels of a specific protein tied to Alzheimer's disease. 26 middle aged men were recruited and put into two, a sleeping group and another group kept awake. Levels of amyloid-beta protein were found to be high in the group kept awake and is linked to Alzheimer's disease.
