How Your Brain Actually Makes Decisions While You Sleep

thinking while asleepRecent research findings have revealed that the human brain does not entirely switch off from our environment. It has been noted that people will wake up easily upon hearing their own name or the sound of the alarm clock. Research has further showed that the brain will process complex stimuli while asleep and even utilize the information to make decisions similarly to when we are awake.

During sleep, the brain usually deactivates the regions of the brain that are used to pay attention and those responsible for implementation of tasks. The study reveals that individuals could accomplish decision making for automated tasks even in their sleep.
