Half of British Pilots Admit to Sleeping in Cockpit

You may not know it but a lot of pilots fall asleep in the cockpit. A new survey of British airline pilots has revealed that more than half - 56 per cent - have admitted to falling asleep in the cockpit. And nearly one in three pilots responding to the British Airline Pilots' Association (BALPA) poll said they had woken up to find their co-pilot also asleep. Are pilots exhausted? This question was raised since the news that both a captain and his co-pilot in an Airbus A330 fell asleep at the same time during a long-haul flight. That meant the packed jet operated by an unnamed British airline was left unsupervised in midflight for a period of time.
