FAA To Delay Sleep Apnoea Policy

Dr Stephen Leonard, chairman of the Aeromedical Advisory Council, reports that the FAA will be delaying the implementation of its new sleep apnoea policy planned for next month so that they gather additional input from the aviation and medical communities. They will collect information and try to hash out a compromise that will address FAA’s concerns about sleep apnoea with all of our concerns about cost, intrusiveness, and adverse effect on the industry.
