An Effective Alternative to CPAP for Sleep Apnoea

CPAP is said to be the most effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). This air pressure device with a mask worn during sleep is very effective at maintaining airflow and reducing or eliminating the interrupted breathing that is caused by sleep apnoea. The problem with CPAP is that some people do not like to wear this mask. However, patients still have another treatment option with oral appliance therapy. For subjects with OSA ranging from mild to severe, researchers found similar levels of success in both CPAP and oral appliance therapy.
