There idiets adequate evidence linking sleep and weight. Sleep and sleep disorders have been shown to have different effects on the performance of the body. For example, the quality of sleep and the duration of sleep may have an effect on hormone activity which directly affects appetite and could end up affecting body weight.

Inadequate sleep will lead to the rise in gherlin and leptin levels setting the stage for consumption of large amounts of food. Overeating is responsible for weight gain. Sleep apnoea and other sleep disorders may as well lead to people being overweight. Losing weight through exercise can be a solution to being overweight and the sleep apnoea problem.
