Conflicting Results for Studies of Road Haulage Drivers with Sleep Apnoea Involved in Truck Crashes
A study titled, The Role of Sleepiness, Sleep Disorders, and the Work Environment on Heavy-Vehicle Crashes in two Australian States, has found that there is no direct link between sleep apnoea and accident rates. The study which provides conflicting results reports that pulling unladen trailers, lack of anti-lock brake systems and cruise control had more effect than
sleep apnoea.
