6 Self-Care Steps for Dealing with TMJD
The temporomandibular joint is a complex joint which is tethered by a number of muscles to the skull. Anything affecting the joint itself or its working mechanisms is capable of causing temporomandibular joint disorder. Symptoms of the disorder are pain, discomfort and popping sounds in the joint.
To find out if you have TMJD, you have to identify these symptoms yourself. To manage the disorder, constantly check on your posture to avoid putting stress on your shoulders, face and neck muscles, avoid clenching your jaw, stroke and soothe the sore areas, exercise and strengthen muscles to attain good posture, and finally seek medical attention if the problem is persistent.
