What’s even frightening is that it can even lead to a shorter life span. Though the amount of sleep varies with factors such as age, health, work schedule and activity levels, scientists are in agreement that 7-9 hours per night are ideal.

Chronic oversleeping, known as hypersomnia, has been known to trigger coronary heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. According to WebMD, hypersomniacs can be plagued by fatigue, anxiety, low energy levels and memory loss.
